Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how SysArticles ("SysArticles", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit sysarticles.com, watch or listen to our content, and when we use our internal publishing tool, SysTube, to publish to and manage our own accounts on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and podcast platforms.
1. Who we are
SysArticles publishes a daily technology news briefing (video, article and podcast) for technology professionals. Contact for privacy questions: info@sysarticles.com.
2. Summary
- We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
- SysTube connects only to accounts that we own (for example our TikTok account @sysarticles). It is not offered to the public and does not log in other people's accounts.
- Data received from platform APIs is used only to publish our own content, moderate and reply to comments on our own posts, and read aggregated statistics. Comment data from these APIs is kept for at most 30 days.
3. Information we collect on sysarticles.com
Comments
When you leave a comment we collect the data in the comment form (name, email, website, comment), your IP address and browser user agent for spam detection. An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to show your profile picture. Published comments are public.
Contact
If you email us or use a contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply.
Newsletter. If you subscribe to the Daily Tech Brief we store your email address, optional first name, the time and IP address of your sign-up and confirmation (proof of consent, double opt-in) and which issues we sent you. The emails are sent from our own mail server; we do not use tracking pixels and we never sell or share your address. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link; after unsubscribing you receive nothing further. You can ask us to delete your record at any time.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console to understand which articles are read and which links are clicked, in aggregate. Google Analytics uses cookies; see section 9. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page, user agent) for security and troubleshooting.
4. Information from platform APIs (SysTube)
SysTube is the software we use to publish our daily briefing. It accesses platform APIs with permission granted by our own accounts. It processes the following data:
4.1 TikTok (Login Kit and Content Posting API)
- Whose account: only our own TikTok account (@sysarticles), connected by us through TikTok Login Kit.
- Permissions (scopes):
user.info.basic,video.uploadand, if enabled,video.publish. - Data accessed: the basic profile of our own account (open ID, username, display name, avatar), the posting options TikTok returns for our account (privacy levels, maximum video length, interaction settings), and the status of the videos we upload.
- Use: to upload our own short news videos to our account (as a draft in the TikTok inbox or as a post) and to label them as AI-generated content. We do not access, collect or store data about other TikTok users.
- Storage: the access and refresh tokens are stored on our own server with access restricted to the service account. They are deleted when we disconnect the account. You can revoke access at any time in the TikTok app: Settings and privacy > Security > Manage app permissions.
4.2 YouTube (YouTube API Services)
- We use the YouTube Data API and YouTube Analytics API to upload videos, captions and thumbnails to our own channel (@sysarticles), to read comments on our own videos in order to reply, hide or remove inappropriate ones, and to read aggregated channel statistics (views, watch time, audience retention).
- Comment data we read (commenter display name, comment text, time) is used only for moderation and replies and is deleted from our systems within 30 days. Aggregated statistics are kept for at most 30 days in raw form.
- By watching or interacting with our content on YouTube you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. You can review or revoke third-party access to a Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
4.3 Facebook and Instagram (Meta Graph API)
We publish posts and short videos to our own Facebook Page and Instagram professional account, read comments on our own posts to reply, hide or remove inappropriate ones, and read aggregated insights. Comment data is deleted from our systems within 30 days. See the Meta Privacy Policy.
4.4 LinkedIn and X
SysTube prepares text drafts that we publish manually. It does not connect to LinkedIn or X accounts and does not collect data from them.
4.5 Podcasts
Our podcast RSS feeds are hosted on sysarticles.com. Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other apps download the audio files; our server logs these requests (IP address, user agent) for download statistics and security.
5. Automated and AI processing
Our briefings are produced with AI assistance from publicly available sources and are narrated with an AI model of our presenter's own voice. To moderate comments, the text of comments on our own posts may be classified by AI models (run on our own server, or through NVIDIA's API service) as normal, question, spam or abusive. A human can review these decisions. No decision with legal or similarly significant effects on you is made automatically.
